John directed his first major project in 2016, “The Rise” on Pac-12 Network, following the Colorado Buffaloes Football team through an entire season. “The Rise” became an instant hit among fans, the University of Colorado football program, and other college athletic programs alike. This quickly opened the door for John to work on projects and build relationships with the Pac-12 Network, ESPN, and Fox Sports. In 2017, Micah and John collaborated on a feature length documentary entitled “Unrivaled” which detailed the University of Kansas basketball program’s 14-year Big 12 Conference winning streak. 

John played a pivotal role as a producer, cinematographer and editor in the second and third seasons of the web series for NFL Network “Undiscovered” in 2018 & 2019 when he joined the Second Wind Creative team as our full-time Creative Director. He also served as a producer, editor, and cinematographer on the team’s latest feature length documentary “Chuck & Tito”, an ESPN 30 for 30.  

John holds multiple Heartland Emmys for his role directing the six-episode series “Forward” in addition to serving as the director of “Seasons”, a feature on Colorado Football narrated by Chris Fowler. He’s also been a cinematographer on shows and features like Uninterrupted, College Game Day (ESPN), NFL Sunday Countdown, E:60 (ESPN), and SC Featured (ESPN).

John resides in Denver, CO but often travels the world representing Second Wind Creative on set in various leadership roles.
