— Chuck & Tito: espn 30 for 30 —

An ESPN 30 for 30 feature-length documentary chronicling the compelling story of two of MMA’s most influential fighters through their careers, through all their ups and downs. Leading up to the trilogy fight happening in the twilight of their careers (Liddell 50 and Ortiz 43), Chuck & Tito raises questions about fighters’ pay, their safety, and whether the “warrior spirit” is something to be applauded or to be governed.

“This isn’t just a story about the rivalry of Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz, it’s a story about the origins of a very unique sport, the growth of a multi-billion dollar company and the mental fortitude it takes to become a champion.

Balancing five storylines and 25 years MMA’s of history into one 90 minute documentary was a tall order. After shooting nearly 40 interviews with former MMA fighters, journalists, and trainers, the long rigorous task of scripting and sifting through hundreds of hours of archival footage began. In the end, we left no stone unturned, and the story that resulted not only humanized the baddest men on the planet, but served as another milestone for the sport of Mixed Martial Arts and its journey toward mainstream acceptance.

I am proud to say that Chuck & Tito was acknowledged by critics and ESPN executives as one of the best and highest rated films of the critically acclaimed 30 for 30 series thus far.”
